Companies and organisations intending to move staff to the UK temporarily, will find this Immigration category very useful. The Tier 2 Intra – Company Transfer Immigration category commonly referred to as Tier 2 ICT enables organisations and businesses transfer employees from their organisations abroad to a UK associated company, subsidiary or branch.

Employees can be transferred to the UK under two categories including Long Term Staff and Graduate Trainee staff. The generality of Long Term staff can be employed in the UK for up to 5 years but employees who meet the much higher salary threshold may be able to extend their leave for up to 9 years.

Graduate Trainees on the hand can only be employed in the Tier 2 ICT category for a maximum period of 12 months.

Long Term staff and Graduate Trainees whose companies intend to transfer them to the UK must have worked for employers for a minimum length of time. Long Term staff should have been employed abroad by their employer for a period of at least 12 months and Graduate Trainees should have been employed for at least 3 months.

Employees on the Overseas Representative Visa can also switch into the Tier 2 ICT category within the UK.

The Tier 2 ICT category allows migrants applying for this visa bring their partners and dependant children.
