Dependants of EEA nationals should apply for Residence Cards if they intend to provide evidence of their Immigration status.
Dependants of EEA nationals should obtain Residence Cards as proof of their right to live and work in the UK. Employers require this document as evidence that the EEA Dependants they have employ have the right to work.
Applications for Registration Certificates can be made by EEA nationals who have not been resident in the UK for up to 5 years.
Registration Certificates are not mandatory for EEA nationals but may serve as additional evidence of an EEA national’s right to work. It ma
y also assist in proof an EEA national’s existing right to work as the UK prepares to leave the European Union in March 2019.
